In late July 2020 I got the chance to audition for a role in the forthcoming Treyarch game, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. I guess they liked me, because I booked one of the lead roles for the Multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone modes, that of the dude in the green balaclava, ‘Harry Stone.’
I can’t go into details, for obvious reasons, but I spent over a week in the studio over the next few months and it was some of the most fun i’ve ever had. the directors were very chill and wonderful to work with and I came away very proud of my work.
I stream the game (on Twitch as ‘StonePlaysStone’) and it’s fantastic to play the character I voiced and hear my words come back at me through my PC speakers. the game has been out over a year, I think i’ve prestiged six times so far, and it still makes me grin when I hear my character speak.
What makes it more fun for me is that the people I kill (which isn’t many, as i’m not that good) have no idea that they were just killed by the actor who played the character that just killed them. Tickles me every time.
Big, big thank you to Treyarch, Activision and the wonderful casting director, Ivy Isenberg, for believing in me.
